Requirements:

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required at all Rebels’ basketball games played at the Thomas & Mack Center, allowing attendance without wearing a mask

In accordance with the Emergency Directive from Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak regarding large events and pending state approval, this new policy will be implemented prior to the start of the 2021-22 season, which is Wednesday, Nov. 10.

      • All UNLV men’s and women’s basketball games played at the Thomas & Mack Center
    • WHO:
      • All attendees ages 12 years and older are required to show proof of vaccination for entry
      • Children ages 3-11 are not currently required to show vaccination and are allowed in with a mask
      • Children ages 2 and under are allowed in with no mask
      • * As more information becomes available for vaccinations for ages 5-11, our policy is subject to change *

Procedure:

Fans attending UNLV Basketball games in the Thomas & Mack Center will be required to show proof of COVID-19 Vaccination prior to entering the arena. UNLV athletics has selected CheckVax™ as the official vaccination validation solution.

 

To ensure a smooth entry experience, please follow the instructions below:

 

  1. Locate a physical or digital copy of your COVID-19 vaccination card and your valid, government-issued ID.
  2. Visit https://app.227.checkvax.io/ to begin the CheckVax™ verification on your computer, or scan the QR code with your mobile device.
  3. Complete all steps to submit your contact details, vaccine card, a government-issued ID, and a selfie.
  4. Once your submission is reviewed, you will receive an SMS confirmation with a link to download your wallet pass or view your web pass.
  5. At the game, present your CheckVax™ wallet pass or web pass for validation.

Save your CheckVax™ wallet pass or web pass validation, as this will be valid for the entire 2021-22 basketball season. There will be no need to re-upload your proof of vaccination every game, if you have the saved pass.

How will I prove I am vaccinated?

  • Upload your vaccination card to the website.

 

Will I still have to wear a mask?

  • Those who are fully vaccinated do not have to wear a mask.

 

What if I am only partially vaccinated?

  • Partially vaccinated fans will not be allowed entry into the Thomas & Mack Center.

 

Do I need to have a booster shot to be considered fully vaccinated?

  • No

 

Will vaccinations be available on site?

  • No, not at the Thomas & Mack Center. But the vaccine is available on UNLV's Campus.

What ages are required to show vaccination status?

  • All attendees ages 12 years and older are required to show proof of vaccination for entry

What happens if I can’t find my vaccine card?

  • If you cannot find your vaccine card you will not be allowed entry into the arena. If you have an image of your vaccination card already on your phone, you can upload it here.

 

What if I cannot get vaccinated for medical or religious reasons?

  • There are no exemptions to this policy for medical or religious reasons.

 

What if I am in my 90-day immunity phase post-covid?

  • You will still need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry.

 

Are there any exemptions to this vaccination requirement?

  • The only exception to the vaccination requirement are children ages 11 and under.

 

I do not want to get vaccinated. What can I do?

  • Can I get a refund? Yes
  • Can I roll my purchase over to next year? Yes
  • If I get a refund, can I still have my seats next year? Yes
  • When do I have to make this decision? Implemented by the first game

 

Do special events have the same requirement?

  • Special events will follow the state and local mandates and guidelines

 

Do basketball games at T-Mobile Arena and Michelob ULTRA Arena have the same requirements?

  • Games played at other venues in town will follow the venue rules at the time of the event.

 

Is this policy locked in for the entire season or could it change if COVID numbers decrease?

  • UNLV will continue to monitor state, county, and local guidelines throughout the season, and may adjust policies as needed.

 

Will this impact other Olympic sports, such as the Mountain West Volleyball tournament? What does this policy mean for outdoor events that UNLV hosts?

  • This only impacts basketball games held in the Thomas & Mack Center. This will not impact games at Allegiant Stadium, outdoor venues at Olympic sports, or venues under 4,000 (Cox) at this time.
