Kathy Olivier and her staff are starting their second year here at UNLV and have high expectations for this year’s team. With seven new players and key returners, it should prove to be an exciting season of basketball!
Jamie Smith, last year’s MWC Freshman of the Year, is back in her sophomore season and joins junior guards India Chaney and Erica Helms as the team’s top returners. The Lady Rebels made a huge run at the end of the 2008-2009 season, beating TCU and BYU in the Mountain West Conference Tournament before losing to San Diego State in the semi-final game. This followed another big upset over top-ranked Utah just two weeks before.
