What a memorable weekend it was for UNLV Football with an incredible showing in the 40-20 win over a really solid Hawaii team. I don't know about you, but I'm already fired up for this Saturday night's home game against Southern Utah. Hope to see you out at Sam Boyd Stadium for Family & Friends Night.
Wait - the phone is ringing again
This short update is being prepared for you literally between phone calls from people across the nation discussing conference realignment. Things are happening quickly and new information is surfacing at all times. As we have discussed in recent weeks, our priority is to be involved in as many conversations as possible to make sure UNLV understands all of its opportunities and is positioned best for the future.
Not a good win, a GREAT win
Any win over a quality football team like Hawaii is always something to celebrate. But what impressed me the most about Saturday's 40-20 victory over the Warriors was how commanding the win actually was. From start to finish - in nearly every facet of the game - our Rebels outplayed Hawaii. Well done, Rebels. Well done.
Coaches focus on doing it again
When congratulating the coaching staff coming off the field on Saturday, many of them responded with something to the essence of, "Time to get back to work and do it again." That's the life of a coach. Early Sunday morning the staff was prepping for this Saturday's game vs. Southern Utah. As fans, we get to enjoy such a victory for nearly a week. In the coaching world, it's a matter of hours.

What are you doing Wednesday night?
This Wednesday night, be sure to stop by Born And Raised Tavern/Lounge and tell congratulations to Bobby in person on his first big win as UNLV coach. (There will be many more to come over the years.) The Bobby Hauck Radio Show broadcasts live from BAR every Wednesday from 7-8 p.m. PT on ESPN Radio 1100 AM/98.9 FM. Bobby is joined weekly by Jon Sandler and Mike Pritchard, our football play-by-play broadcast team. BAR is located on Warm Springs between Buffalo and Durango, just a few minutes off the 215.
Limited tailgating this weekend
Due to the use of facilities for an independent corporate event, tailgating in the Star Nursery Fields (grassy lot north of Sam Boyd Stadium) will not be available to day-of-game parking for this Saturday's football game vs. Southern Utah. All day-of-game parking will be directed to the south parking lots. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
Winning can be contagious - Men's Golf
UNLV picked up another big win on Monday as coach Dwaine Knight and his men's golf team won their season opening tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Rebels won the 19-team Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational by downing Colorado in a playoff. Junior Kevin Penner tied for first individually in leading our deep squad to victory.
