Hello Rebel fans,
As school winds down, the action heats up for our Spring sports. We had some great Rebel wins this past week - including a terrific week in Governor's Series action - and are hoping for a few more in the weeks ahead. Here's a quick update we hope you will enjoy:
WOMEN'S GOLF, WOMEN'S TENNIS CLAIM MOUNTAIN WEST TITLES
In back-to-back days last week, two of our programs claimed Mountain West Conference championships. Last Saturday, our Women's Golf team claimed its first Mountain West Golf Championship since 2006. Sophomore Dana Finkelstein was selected as MW Golfer of the Year and UNLV head coach Amy Bush was selected as the Coach of the Year... Then on Sunday, Women's Tennis upset top-seed San Diego State for its first Mountain West Tournament Championship since 2008. For head coach Kevin Cory, it's his seventh title (tournament or regular season) in 14 seasons with the Rebels... Both squads will appear in their respective NCAA Tournaments later this month.
REBELS DOMINATE GOVERNOR'S SERIES ACTION THIS PAST WEEK
There are still important matchups to go against the Wolf Pack in sports such as Baseball, Men's Golf and Women's Track & Field, but UNLV laid claim this past weekend to a victory in the inaugural Governor's Series - presented by NV Energy - in the annual matchup against Nevada, Reno for all-around athletic excellence. With points this past week in Women's Golf, Men's Tennis and Softball, we now hold a 25.5-10.5 lead with only 12 more points available to be earned. Congratulations, Rebels! But it's not over. Let's finish off the year strong - athletically and academically - before celebrating the victory together.
SUMMER TIME MEANS CAMP TIME FOR KIDS

LAST CHANCE TO CATCH REBELS ON THE DIAMOND THIS WEEKEND
UNLV Baseball & Softball will close out home play this weekend. Baseball hosts Fresno State in a crucial three-game set Friday-Sunday before playing its final home game of the year on Monday vs. San Diego... Softball, coming off a big series win last weekend up in Reno, will host Boise State Friday-Sunday... Tickets are only $8 for adults to games for both baseball and softball and kids 12-and-under are always free. Also, Saturday is Kids Day at baseball.
